Together, We Raised £12,618 For Kampala (The Karis Fete)

We hand-cut and stitched together over 200 metres of Ugandan-flag-themed bunting for this event!

On Saturday 10 May, the grounds of Winchester Vineyard Church were transformed into a vibrant festival of food, games, and music, all in support of children and families in Kampala, Uganda.

We set ourselves ambitious goals: to welcome 300 guests and raise £5,000 to help break the cycle of poverty. Thanks to the incredible turnout, tireless volunteers, and overwhelming generosity, we surpassed every target—and then some.

Together, we raised £12,618 for Kampala and welcomed 336 guests!

Here are photos of the day and a breakdown of the event:

  • What we were raising money for

  • More stats and results!

Full of Fun and Flavour!

The fete was brimming with activity. Here are some of the highlights:

  • 336 tickets sold, (includes 149 walk-ins who joined the fun spontaneously).

  • 257 BBQ lunches served hot off the grill and 162 scoops of Jude’s ice cream devoured.

  • 192 drinks, 144 mini doughnuts, and 68 slices of cake enjoyed.

  • 66 volunteers gave their time and energy to make it all run smoothly.

From the inflatable obstacle course and face painting to live music and a bustling goods market, there was something for everyone.

Generosity in Action

Together, we raised a total of £12,618 — more than double our original target! This included:

  • £3,943 in event profits (where we sold 911 raffle entries, raising £604, and 625 challenge tokens sold, contributing another £485)

  • £8,675 in individual gifts (across Karis Sunday @ Winchester Vineyard Church and the Fete)

These funds will go directly to supporting education, health care, and family stability for children living in Kampala’s poorest communities.

The Karis Experience

If you weren’t able to see it on the day, we’d love for you to watch our short film The Karis Experience, which beautifully captures the impact of this work.
