Senior 6 Leavers Info Day

One of the things about Karis that fills me with the most pride is the dedication of our students to their studies, and their achievements.

On the 9th May, the Karis office at All Saints Cathedral was the venue for an educational pathways information day for Senior 6 students. For those of us in the UK, this is equivalent to our A-levels.

It is a huge achievement to have simply arrived at this stage.

15 “vacists” attended, receiving guidance from the Karis team on the various educational pathways available to them.

“Vacist” is Ugandan English for a school leaver who has just finished their exams and is waiting on results or next steps — someone "on vacation" between finishing Senior 6 (roughly A-levels) and moving on to university, vocational training, or work.

They were accompanied by their carers, who came to hear the guidance too, so they could offer further support at home. The Karis team gave a clear explanation of the preparations needed for joining tertiary institutions, training programmes and apprenticeship pathways.

Please pray for wisdom for each student as they choose according to their skills and passions, and for success in their applications. I have no doubt that we shall be celebrating future graduations and successes.
