Dental Care training

On my first visit to Kampala, it was the beautiful smiles of the people who welcomed me that made the lasting impression!
On 29th April, St Peter's, Wandegeya Church of Uganda, hosted a well-attended training day on dental care. Dr Cliff Mugume demonstrated good brushing to all the carers, explaining that the right technique avoids damage, and the need for repair or treatment down the line. He also explained the importance of using a good toothbrush with toothpaste.
Dr Mugume explained how our different teeth are designed for different jobs — grinding, tearing, biting — and shared about the diseases that affect them. The carers were coached on how to keep teeth healthy and avoid decay.
Dr Mugume also encouraged them in their role as their children's first dentist: making sure teeth are brushed properly at least twice a day, and that children attend regular check-ups with dental practitioners.
This might sound all too familiar for some of us…
With such thorough, expert training, bright smiles will continue to welcome every visitor!
