what we do

Anna-missa

Karis Kids links family to family and church to church.

We aim to link up individual churches in the UK with churches in Uganda to partner together in caring for the orphaned children. Within those linked churches, we link up family group to family.

A family provides:

  1. love and acceptance
  2. food and shelter
  3. nuture and protection

Karis Kids supports a full time project leader, Ketrah Turyakira, who administers the project in Kampala and oversees local community workers who visit every family. The majority of our supported families live in the slums in Kampala with dependents of their own.
We are also fundraising to appoint a communications officer, and we plan to renew the contract of our accounts assistant, Stephen Omu, who has done a great job this last year.

At Karis Kids we have developed a trusted means for families or groups of individuals to give financial support to a link Ugandan family.

Support of £50 per month provides such things as school fees, medical expenses, clothes, food and soap. Karis Kids also organizes regular get togethers for the families focussing on parenting skills, life skills, and offering pastoral support.
